ABOUT

The Coco Labelle Story

The Founder  of Coco Labelle , Elisabeth Brown is born and bred in London and comes from a mixed background of Mauritius, Italian and Jamaican family heritage. Having  also lived in Mauritius and Rome, she is fluent in four languages with an LPC and MA in International Politics & Human Rights while also having trained at Westminster Kingsway College for her Professional Chef Diploma.

Elisabeth is mother to two beautiful children who are the inspiration for the Coco Labelle name.

Elisabeth grew up in a family that was very much food inclined and in which the culture was that "food brings people together". Elisabeth always had a passion for food as well as the cooking skills and after gaining her Professional Chef Diploma, Elisabeth founded Coco Labelle in 2014 specialising in African & Caribbean cuisine and never looked back.

The Events Catering Business serving delicious food from Charlie, the iconic Coco Labelle Food Truck (as seen on James Martin's Saturday Morning Season:5 Episode:26) soon meant that the opportunity arose to branch into a manufacturing food service business.

Grown from the home kitchen the business soon transferred to the fabulous and in demand food truck. Then the purpose built, Approve Premises factory opened to fulfil the opportunity  to also becoming a supplier to the NHS & other Catering Foodservice customers. Coco achieved NHS Supply Chain Status in 2019 and is proudly representing and championing African & Caribbean food on the new NHS Good Health Expert Panel - Culture & Lifestyle Group.

In 2022, Elisabeth produced over 111,000 portions of  delicious well balanced food for the athletes' village at the Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham. The production capacity of the factory was massively increased, to meet the demand of newly created recipes especially created for the games.

In 2023, Charlie the iconic food truck was retired and the business moved into full time production of ready meals for catering and wholesale  at the newly upgraded production facility in Bracknell.

Now the story continues as Coco Labelle moves into the supply of food to takeaways and restaurants as well as opening an online shop so more and more people can try our delicious food.
